Quite difficult to write about video poker rules as - and
it's very common - there are so many variants of this game.
So, I will try to explore the 2 most common played video
poker games "Aces & Faces" and "Jacks
or Better".
Aces and Faces Poker is a very common video poker game.
This game has high payouts for combinations of four Aces
or four Face cards. Face cards are the Jacks, Queens and
Kings.
Jacks or Better is a combination of either a pair of Jacks,
Queens, Kings or Aces, and three unmatched cards.
Great, but what is video poker ?
This game is played between you and the Dealer. You are
dealt 5 cards in the first hand. After receiving your first
hand, you choose which cards you hold or you discard. All
the cards you discard will be replaced with new ones from
the shoe. Your goal is to finish the game with the strongest
hand. The payout is dependent on the value of your hand,
if you win smthg of course. If you win your hand, you can
participate in the doubling phase, where you can increase
your winnings.
What is doubling ?
The objective of this phase is to draw a card of higher
value than the Dealer's. If you draw a card of higher value,
your win amount is doubled and you can choose to double
it again or collect your winnings. You can keep on doubling
until you a card of lesser value is drawn and you lose the
hand.
