Craps is a game played with a pair of dice rolled by a guy
called the "Shooter". Your goal is to bet whether
or not the Shooter will roll a winning combination.
A game of Craps will consist of two different phases, the
Come-Out and the Point phases. In the Come-Out phase, your
objective is to roll a 7 or an 11, while betting on the
Pass Line. If you roll 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 instead, a Point
is established. In the Point phase of Craps, your goal is
to roll the same number as the Point, before you roll a
7. In these two phases, you can place different side bets.
Some terms before playing :
* Box Cars : when the Shooter
rolls two 6's.
* Come-Out Roll : it is any
roll before a point is set. The Come Out Roll is when you
try to win a Pass Line bet by rolling 7 or 11. Remember,
the Pass Line bets will lose if the come-out roll is 2,
3 or 12. After rolling a 7, 11, 2, 3 or 12, the Shooter
comes out again. Should any other number be rolled, a Point
will be established.
* Craps Out : when the Shooter
rolls a 2, 3 or 12 on the come-out roll.
* Establish a Point : simply
when you roll a Point Number on the come-out roll.
* Making a Point : when the
Shooter re-rolls the Point, after the Point is established.
Once it is established, re-rolling the Point wins, 7 loses
and any other number does not affect the Pass Line bet.
* Point Number : it is a number
- 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10, that the Shooter tries to roll to
win the Pass Line bet.
Craps has a lot of bets, and they are not always
easy to understand and memorize. Do not hesitate to print
these rules before playing this game.
Payout schedule :
Lots of tables exist to show odds/payouts, so I tried to
be the most concise and synthetic.

The different bet types :
And there are lots of them...
* Pass Line bet : you bet that
the Shooter will roll a 7 or 11, or establish a Point by
rolling 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 on the come-out roll. And then
roll the point number again before rolling a 7.
* Don't Pass bet : you bet
that the Shooter will roll a 2, 3 or 12, or establish a
Point by rolling 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 on the come-out roll.
And then roll a 7 before rolling the point number again.
* Come bet : this is like the
Pass Line bet, but can only be taken after a Point is established.
You bet that the Shooter will either roll a 7 or 11 on the
next roll, or make a Point, and roll that point number again
before rolling a 7.
Note: this bet can be made on every roll of the dice but
only after the Shooter has established a Point.
* Don't Come bet : this is
similar to the Don't Pass bet, but may only be taken after
a Point is established. You bet that the Shooter will roll
a 2, 3 or 12 on the next roll, or won't make the Point before
rolling a 7.
* Odds bet : these additional
bets are made on an established Pass, Don't Pass, Come or
Don't Come bet only.
* Place to Win bet : you bet
that the Shooter will roll the number that a Win bet is
placed on - 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10, before a 7 is rolled.
* Place to Lose bet : you bet
that the Shooter will roll a 7, before the number that a
Lose bet is placed on - 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10, is rolled.
* Field bet : youl bet that
the Shooter will roll a 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 or 12, on the
next roll.
* Hardways bet : you bet that
the Shooter will roll a double 2, 3, 4 or 5 either before
it is thrown in any other combination, or before a 7 is
rolled.
* Any Seven : you bet that
the Shooter will roll a 7 on the next roll.
* Any Craps : you bet that
the Shooter will roll a 2, 3 or 12 on the next roll.
* Craps Two : you bet that
the Shooter will roll a 2 on the next roll.
* Craps Twelve : you bet that
the Shooter will roll a 12 on the next roll.
* Craps Three : you bet that
the Shooter will roll a 3 on the next roll.
* Eleven : you bet that the
Shooter will roll an 11 on the next roll.
* Big 6 : you bet that a 6
will be rolled before a 7.
* Big 8 : you bet that an 8
will be rolled before a 7.
Congratulations, you reached the
end of this pretty boring playing guide !
